Carol Violin Teacher in Pearland

Dr. Carol Tsai

California-native Dr. Carol Tsai has been passionate about music since her early childhood. Her musical endeavors began with studying piano at the age of 5 and violin at 6. Over the years Carol has performed with a variety of musical ensembles, including the Pacific Chorale, the UCI University Choir, the UCI Symphony, the Santa Barbara Choral Society, UCI’s Clair de Lune all-female a Cappella group, and the Santa Barbara Mission Schola. Carol has also performed with the Santa Barbara Opera company and for UCSB’s Opera workshops in both the choruses and various roles, including Suor Angelica, Carmen, Manon, La Rondine, Letters from Providence in the Rain, and The Marriage of Figaro. Apart from her many years of performing, Carol has also loved working in a teaching capacity for about 15 years. In addition to private teaching, she has also coached for the Beckman High School orchestra, the Santa Barbara High School musical theater department, the UCSB women’s chorus, and the UCSB musical theater department. Carol is thrilled to join the faculty of the Allegro Pearland Academy of Music!

Carol is currently a materials scientist at Dow. She earned B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology, Cum Laude from UC Irvine. She performed her graduate work at UCSB, where she did her doctoral thesis developing computational simulations of block copolymers in Professor Glenn Fredrickson’s research group and studied for her Master’s in Vocal Performance under the instruction of Dr. Isabel Bayrakdarian, focusing heavily on mid-Classical to late Romantic repertoire.
