Ms. Hasmik

Hasmik is an Armenian cellist & pianist who has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in major concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall, Paris Opera House, Tchaikovsky Music Hall in Moscow, Berlin Opera House, St. John Smith Square in London and the Munetsugu Hall in Japan.  Ms. Hasmik is a top prizewinner in many national and international competitions. She won the second prize at the Aram Khachaturyan International cello competition in 2010. In 2011 she received first prize in Schlern International Cello Competition in Italy. Ms. Hasmik received the Presidential Youth Award for best performance in “Classical Music” presented by the President of the Republic of Armenia in 2012. With the Vardanyan Piano Trio, she placed first prize in the Karen Kostanyan Chamber Music Competition in Yerevan in 2013.  Ms. Hasmik holds a Bachelor of Music and Master’s in Music Performance from the Komitas State Conservatory. She is currently completing her Doctorate at the University of Houston with professor Vagram Saradjian.  Ms. Hasmik enjoys sharing her passion for the piano & cello with students of the academy.
