Felix G

Felix holds a B.M. in violin performance from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music and an M.M. in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy from Ithaca College where he served as a graduate assistant. He held principal positions in the Moores school orchestras and went on to serve as concertmaster of the Ithaca College symphony.

Felix believes in a strong technical foundation and in cultivating valuable life skills through musical training. His students have won positions in the Texas Music Educators Association region and state orchestras and have earned top ratings in state and local solo and ensemble contests. His students have also performed and held principal positions in the Houston Youth Symphony and the American Festival for the Arts orchestra.

Felix completed his long-term Suzuki training in violin books 1-8 with Carrie Reuning-Hummel, a pioneer of the Suzuki philosophy in the United States. Additional trainers have included Mark Mutter, Rolando Freitag, Cathy Lee, Kirsten Marshall, and Edward Kreitman.
